Race

This was a birthday present for my dad! It's Speed Racer, Mad Max, and my dad in his 69' Camaro.

Animated Storyboards

It's where I work! I did this little design for them to put on some canvas bags. We have a bunch of studios around the world, so I tried to work that idea into a fun drawing.

Snake

A work in progress! I was inspired by the AWESOME new Godzilla movie, and had to do something giant-monster related.

The Frankentree

This is the first of a series of drawings I hope to do, all of childhood memories I share with my cousins and my brothers...our adventures, our discoveries, and our shenanigans.

For this one, I decided to draw a time we discovered a weird dead tree in my grandparents' neighbor's yard. It had pieces of metal and bottle-caps nailed into the trunk of the tree, in the shape of a face. Weird! There wasn't much of a story behind this one, but for some reason or another, I've always remembered this event very vividly. We always would drive my grandparents' golf carts around the property, so I threw one of those in, too.

The drawing itself was a blast; I did loose silhouettes first, made sure I liked their composition, then did the line drawings over them, preserving the roughness of the original silhouettes underneath. Then for the characters, I drew simple features over the original rough silhouettes and added shadows beneath them. And of course the clouds, those are there for some added atmosphere. Lastly, I added a layer of color and texture to the silhouettes for that sepia tone/texture.

Hope you like!

The Ones That Got Away...

Some cool characters that didn't get finished, or colored, for some-reason-or-another. Didn't want them to get thrown away forever!

I'll probably finish a couple of them someday.

Speedpaint and Paintover

This one was interesting... From bottom to top: initial sketch, speedpaint, paintover. I did a lot of painting then shrinking then painting then shrinking, and the result was my initial sketch becoming a small window within a larger composition...a fun way to organically put some perspective in, without construction lines and whatnot. This wasn't for any project, I just wanted to play around with ideas.
