In 2009, after finishing high school in northern Michigan, I went to study animation at The Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. During my studies I took some time to give digital painting a try and quickly realized that I wanted to be a digital painter. At the time, the faculty at my college had very little digital painting experience, so I had to learn from tutorials, practice and critique from my friends and peers. This worked out well for me! During college I landed an internship and some freelance work that put digital painting related work experience on my resume. Shortly after completing my animation degree in 2012 I was hired as a full time character and environment designer at an animation studio. That's where I am now, doing artsy things. This blog is for my free time hobby paintings and drawings.
I am a digital artist; unless noted otherwise, everything on this blog was sketched and painted in Photoshop with my good ol' Bamboo Wacom tablet.
